Breast Augmentation – Crescent Pexy

WJ1234This young 28 year old female has one child and did breast feed.  She is very athletic and wanted the implants placed under her glad rather then the muscle.  Subglandular augmentation is less commonly done today because it is thought that implants placed under the muscle may reduce the risk of capsular contracture,  improve quality of mammmograms and reduce rippling.  However  patients with a a good amount of breast tissue will get a very good result with a subglandular augmentation.  This patient also had a small upper areolar crescenteric areolar lift.  Recovery is quicker with subglandular augmentation.    We still place 95% of our implants under the muscle but in the right patient a subglandular augmentation is a very good option.
